Columbus hops (sometimes referred to as CTZ hops) are best used in darker beers looking for a uniquely spicy bittering quality, as well as IPAs and Pale Ales that you want to a have a piney, peppery flavor and aroma for. IPAs and Pale Ales can also use Columbus as a bittering hop. Columbus hops are often used in “West Coast” style IPAs to generate an assertively bitter yet very refreshing taste. There are 3 ounces in this purchase, with three 1 oz. packages of the hops. All packages are nitrogen flushed and vacuum sealed to preserve maximum freshness.
